Countdown to insanity

I have decided to start this blog as a way to not only put some crap on web paper that I want to say but also to keep myself accountable for the program I am about to begin. I have purchased the Insanity exercise DVD's and plan on starting tomorrow, Monday, March 1. This program uses just body weight exercises and mindnumbing intensity to help people lose weight and get in shape. The point of the exercises are longer periods of intense exercise followed by short periods of rest. Each DVD lasts about 30-45 minutes and states one can lose up to 1000 calories. Having planned on doing this for the last couple months, I have had plenty of time to research and view different posts about this exercise program. I have also previously completed the P90X program, but it has been two years since. I can honestly say that I am a bit apprehensive about beginning because the program lives up to its name. I got winded just viewing some of the DVD's! I am doing this with a friend of mine so maybe together we can encourage each other or perhaps perform life saving resuscitation, whichever comes first. I will include pictures and updates on how each day is going and what I am eating as well as a run down of what exercises were done. My weight goals are losing 20-25 pounds, 2-3 inches off my waist and of course to get in shape. The program says you have to be insane to do this. Well, maybe I am (just ask my wife) but I also know that if I go all out, I will see results and that is the point.
